Our Kids’ Health, an initiative led by The Cooper Institute, seeks to improve children’s health by reducing childhood obesity.
State Level Data Comparison:
This Adobe PDF document contains state level data by gender comparing fitness results between 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years. The docuement also provides analysis and goals for the 2010-11 school year.
Aggregated Fitness Assessment Data Available by District:
Fitness data for more than two million Texas students is now available to view in aggregate form. All the files are large, so be patient when viewing over a slow connection.
2009-10
The raw data from the 2009-10 TEA Physical Fitness Assessment Initiative (PFAI) can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet only.
The data posted is aggregated by district, grade and gender for the 2009-2010 school year. All identifying information has been removed to protect student privacy. Aggregates with less than five total students are masked.
2008-09
The raw data from the 2008-09 TEA Physical Fitness Assessment Initiative (PFAI) can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet only.
The data posted is aggregated by district, grade and gender for the 2008-2009 school year. The bottom spreadsheet is further aggregated by ethnicity. All identifying information has been removed to protect student privacy. Aggregates with less than five total students are masked.
2007-08
The raw data from the TEA Physical Fitness Assessment Initiative (PFAI) can be viewed as HTML or downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet.
The data posted is aggregated by campus, grade and gender for the 2007-2008 school year. All identifying information has been removed to protect student privacy. Aggregates with less than five total students are masked. Data is only available for the districts that submitted data.
This information does not include TAKS scores, economically disadvantaged indicators, attendance or disciplinary data. The report correlating fitness assessment data with these indicators is in the press release March 2009 above.
