Points of Consideration for LEAs Implementing TSDS PEIMS

  1. The LEA must have at least one year of experience with current source data vendors (SIS, HR, and finance).
  2. The LEA must not be planning to switch to a new source data vendor (SIS, HR, and finance) in the next two years.
  3. The LEA is committing to submitting PEIMS data for the 2014–15 school year through the new TSDS PEIMS system and through the legacy EDIT+ system. The data submitted through EDIT+ will be the LEA’s official PEIMS submission. LEAs must commit the time and resources to submit data through both systems.
  4. The LEA PEIMS Steward/Coordinator has experience with the EDIT+ and current PEIMS process.
  5. LEA leadership is committed to provide resources to serve as PEIMS Steward (likely PEIMS coordinator), Data Steward, and (if large LEA) Program Steward (see Roles and Responsibilities for details).
  6. The LEA will need to be able to load data into the TSDS Operational Data Store (ODS). Hardware requirements were provided to the LEAs. At a minimum, the LEA will need to have one dedicated server and a T1 line. Additionally, the LEA will need to have a compatible web browser.
  7. Source data vendors should be ready to create data extracts from source systems by time of adoption.
