Data

View Texas public school AP and IB participation and performance data for students in Grades 11 and 12 at the state level or search by campus, district, county, or education service center region. 

Reports

The Accountability Research Unit in the Division of Research and Analysis publishes annual reports on AP and IB testing in Texas public schools, as well as special reports on related topics. Beginning with the 2010-11 school year, the format of the annual reports changed.

Reports for the 2010-11 School Year and Later Years

Beginning with the 2010-11 school year, the format of Accountability Research reports on AP and IB testing changed. Examination results for the 2010-11 school year and later years are presented in two separate annual reports, which are published sequentially as the data become available. The reports cover AP and IB participation and performance in Texas public schools and AP participation and performance in Texas and the United States for public and nonpublic schools combined. Two additional documents provide general information about the examinations and a glossary of terms.

Reports for the 2009-10 School Year and Earlier Years

Beginning with the 2010-11 school year, the format of Accountability Research reports on AP and IB testing changed. Examination results for the 2009-10 school year and earlier years are presented in a single annual report. The report presents AP and IB participation and performance results for students in Texas public schools, as well as AP participation and performance results for students in public and nonpublic schools combined in Texas and the United States. In addition, the report provides descriptions of the AP and IB examinations and information about policies related to the examinations, uses of individual scores in Texas, data sources, definitions of variables, and interpretation of results.

  • AP participation and examination performance data are important in understanding the extent to which Texas students have completed courses that may qualify them for a "head start"--advanced standing, course credit, or both standing and credit--upon beginning college or university course work. A brief history and overview of the College Board AP program is presented in this report, along with a general description of AP courses and examinations, AP benefits and costs, Texas high school graduation requirements with AP components, and college and university AP policies.
