The Division of Regional Services is home to four units within the Texas Education Agency.
The Office of Education Service Center Liaison encompasses functions related to managing the relationship between the Texas Education Agency and the twenty Regional Education Service Centers.
The Division of Regional Services serves as the contact for Resources for Military Families in Texas, including participation in the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. The division facilitates the work of the compact and alternate compact commissioners representing Texas to the compact commission. The division assists military families, who have moved to Texas from a compact state, to enter school, be appropriately placed, and graduate.
The division also serves as the agency's Homeland Security contact for weather-related and natural disasters. The division works with the Texas Emergency Management Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety to coordinate services to impacted individuals and regions of the state.

Commissioner of Education Michael L. Williams announced today that he will attend the first formal meeting of the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) board of managers. The meeting, which will include an official swearing-in ceremony and selection of board officers, will take place on Tuesday, May 7, in El Paso.

Commissioner Michael L. Williams today met with administrators, educators and students in the West Independent School District to assess the district’s needs for the remainder of the school year. West ISD began classes this week following a tragic explosion that devastated the community on April 17.
