The released tests for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), TAKS–Modified (TAKS–M), and Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) Reading can be accessed through the links below.
TAKS and TAKS–M Released Tests
Texas Education Code §39.023(e) requires the Texas Education Agency to release only the primary form of the TAKS and the TAKS–M for every grade and subject tested every three years. The three-year release schedule was enacted by the 80th Texas Legislature in 2007 and modified by the 81st Texas Legislature in 2009. However, only TAKS exit level tests will be given after the 2011-2012 school year. Because this testing program is being phased out, TAKS questions are no longer being developed. This means that the current "pool" of questions from which tests are built has to last for the life of the program. Therefore, TAKS tests will no longer be released.
TELPAS Reading Released Tests
New TELPAS reading tests for grades 2–12 were implemented in the 2007–2008 school year. The spring 2010 tests are the first tests to be released. Released tests and answer keys for grades 2–12 can be found on the following webpage:
