The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was signed into law on Feb. 17, 2009, with the intention to save jobs, support states and school districts, and advance reforms and improvements for early learning, K-12, and post-secondary education.

The economic recovery funds are subject to unprecedented levels of transparency and accountability. The four key reform areas include progress towards rigorous college-and-career-ready standards & assessments, improving Pre-K to college and career data systems, equitable distribution of qualified teachers for all students, and effective interventions for the lowest performing schools.
