Target Tech in Texas (T3) Collaborative Grant Background

On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Designed to stimulate the American economy, ARRA authorizes the spending of billions of dollars in the nation’s public schools.

The Texas Education Agency distributed a portion of its discretionary funds through the Target Tech in Texas (T3) Collaborative Grant. “Target Tech” refers to the highest level of progress in which schools should be working toward as described on the Texas Campus and Teacher School Technology and Readiness (STaR) Chart.

The STaR Chart provides a measure of how well a teacher or campus has integrated technology into curriculum and instruction. The funds made available through the T3 Collaborative Grant provide more up-to-date and innovative technology to students and educators, enabling schools to focus on improving teaching and learning to support college and career readiness.
