About the SPP / APR

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA 2004), Section 616(b), requires each state to develop a six-year performance plan. This State Performance Plan (SPP) evaluates the State’s efforts to implement the requirements and purposes of IDEA and illustrates how the State will continuously improve upon this implementation.

Current 2005-2012 State Performance Plan  

In alignment with IDEA 2004, the US Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has identified five monitoring priorities within the SPP:

  1. Free Appropriate Public Education in the Least Restrictive Environment
  2. Disproportionality
  3. Child Find
  4. Effective Transition
  5. General Supervision

The SPP contains 20 indicators associated with these five monitoring priorities:

SPP/APR Submission

February 2013
The State submitted a revision to its State Performance Plan.  The revisions included baseline data and targets for Indicators 4B, 6, 9, and 10.

The State submitted the FFY 2011 Annual Performance Report that included indicators 1, 2, 3A-C, 4A, 5A-C, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20.
