School Readiness Integration (SRI) Specialist
Each of the 20 Education Service Centers (ESC) employ an SRI specialist that provides professional development, training, and technical assistance to early childhood education providers within the ESC region. The SRI will coordinate the implementation of the Texas Kindergarten Readiness System (KRS) formerly known as the Texas School Readiness Certification System (SRCS) which evaluates the effectiveness of prekindergarten, Head Start, and community-based licensed child care programs in preparing children for kindergarten. Additionally, the position will strive to maintain a cost-effective School Readiness Integration (SRI) model that brings together school districts, child care providers, and Head Start programs to prepare prekindergarten children for transition into school.
