How to Apply for a Position at TEA

 

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

Available positions are posted on the TEA Employment Opportunities web page and the Texas Workforce Commission website. Applicants must use the TEA online system to apply for agency positions.

Application Instructions

To apply for a TEA job online, you must set up an account and select a username and password at GovernmentJobs.com. This application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening. Once you have created an account, follow these steps to apply for a position: 

  • Search for open positions on the TEA Employment Opportunities web page.
  • Click on the title of the job you are interested in.
  • Click the Apply link on the right-hand side of the page above the job description.
  • Log in with your username and password. If you do not have an account, click Create your Account Here and complete required information. Keep a record of your username and password. Human Resources will not be able to retrieve this information if you forget it. 
  • Click To apply for the position of (title of position) click here.
  • Answer the agency-wide supplemental questions.
  • Click on the Save & Proceed button at the bottom of the page.
  • Answer the job-specific supplemental questions (if any).
  • Click on the Save & Proceed button at the bottom of the page.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the application review screen and click Confirm & Send Application. Before you confirm, be sure that all information is correct. Once you confirm, youwill not be able to make any changes to your application.
  • Click the Accept button on the digital signature screen.
  • Click on the Logout link in the upper-right-hand corner.

Additional Information

The Human Resources office send applications of people who meet the minimum qualifications to the hiring manager responsible for the interview and selection process. The hiring manager will review the application for evidence of the minimum qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities listed on the job posting. 

If we select you for an interview, the hiring manager will contact you directly. You can see your application status at GovernmentJobs.com by clicking applicant status for each specific job posting.

If you are selected for a position with college/university or special course work listed as a minimum qualification, you must provide official transcripts within 30 days of your hire date.

If you are a male between the ages of 18 and 25, you must show proof that you are registered with the selective service system or that you are exempt from registration. You can register and  find your proof of registration on the Selective Service System's website (Texas Government Code, Section 651.005). An offer of employment is contingent upon proof of registration or exemption.

The Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986 requires all new employees to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. TEA does not sponsor H1-B work visas.
