How to Apply for a Position at TEA


Thank you for your interest in employment with the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

PLEASE NOTE:  You must initially set up an account and select a user name and Password at  This application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening.

 From the Texas Education Agency job search page:

  • Click on the job title of the job you are interested in
  • Click on the ‘Apply’ link
  • For first time users – Click on ‘Create your Account Here’.  Complete required information.  WRITE DOWN YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD. HR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETRIEVE IF YOU LOSE IT.
  • For returning users– Log in using your user name and password. You will not be able to create another account using the same e-mail address.
  • Click on ‘To apply for the position of your selection title click here’
  • Answer the agency-wide supplemental questions
  • Click on the ‘Save & Proceed’ button at the bottom of the page
  • Answer the job-specific supplemental questions (if any)
  • Click on the ‘Save & Proceed’ button at the bottom of the page
  • Scroll to the bottom of the application review screen and click ‘Confirm & Send Application’
  • Click the ‘Accept’ button on the digital signature screen
  • Click on the ‘Logout’ link in the upper-right-hand corner

The Human Resources office refers the applications of applicants who meet the minimum qualifications to the hiring manager responsible for the interview and selection process.  The hiring manager will review the application for evidence of the minimum qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities listed on the job posting.

If selected for an interview, you will be contacted directly by the hiring manager.  You may view your applicant status at by clicking applicant status for each specific job posting. 

If you are selected for a position with college/university or special course work listed as a minimum qualification, you will be required to provide official transcripts within 30 days of hire.

If you are a male 18 to 25 years of age, an offer of employment is contingent upon you presenting proof when you report for your first day of employment that you are registered with the selective service system or that you are exempt from registration.  Online registration and proof of registration is available on the  Selective Service System's website.  (Texas Government Code, Section 651.005.)

The Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986 requires all new employees to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. TEA does not sponsor H1-B work visas.
