Educational Aide Application Instructions

Educational Aides must be employed by a Texas public school before applying for certification. Once employed by a Texas school, the educational aide will need to create a TEAL account (TEA login) or login to an existing TEAL account. To establish a TEA login account, the educational aide will select "Educator Login” from the right hand side of the TEA home page, then “New User? Create New Account”. TEAL instructions with Graphics or a TEAL Quick Reference can be located under the “Educator Login” link to assist you with creating a TEAL (TEA login) account.

After the TEAL account is created the applicant will need to access their educator account to apply for the Educational Aide Certificate. A certificate fee is required at the time of application. Additionally if prompted, a fingerprint fee and completion of fingerprinting will be required. The employing school district is responsible for performing the online recommendation for the appropriate level of Aide Certificate.

Persons who are applying for renewal of a Standard Educational Aide Certificate will be able to apply without the assistance of an employing school district.
