GEDi Access

GEDi is the online system used to maintain GED examinees records, testing center information, and annual statistics.


Access requirements

By law, GEDi access is restricted to the following governmental entities (click on the links below for specific access instructions):

NOTE: Before requesting access, you should make sure you have an active TEASE account. If you do not, you need to request a new account. (Select Application:  General Educational Development)

Forget your password? Follow these steps to have your password mailed to you.

GED Testing Center Request for GEDi Access

If you work at a test center as the chief examiner, staff or in accounting you can request access to the GEDi system. 

Log on to TEASE and folllow the instructions below:

  • At the upper right hand corner of the screen click on the Add/Modify Application Access button 
  • select General Educational Development from the Select Application drop down menu

IMPORTANT: You will need your CenterID and Organization Number, which is NOT your GEDTS number. It is a six character alphabetic code. You can determine your code by visiting the GED Test Center page. Find your test center by city and to the right of the name is the six character "CenterID/Organization Number" code.

NOTE: Even if you work at an ISD or ESC, your organization type needs to be GED Test Center.

Your chief examiner will have to approve you before staff at TEA can make the final approval.

  • An email will be sent to the chief examiner to submit a request for approval.
  • Once the chief examiner has made an approval, then TEA can make the final approval.
  • An email will be sent approving or denying the application.

Chief Examiner - You should email ged@tea.state.tx.us requesting "Admin" rights to approve your staff at your Testing Center.

ISD or ESC Request for GED Access

A Memorandum of Understanding between TEA and ESCs and ISDs is in place for leaver recovery. If you work for an ESC or ISD, gaining access to GED data is a two step process.

First, log on to TEASE and folllow the instructions below:

  • At the upper right hand corner of the screen click on the Add/Modify Application Access button
  • select General Education Development from the Select Application drop down menu

NOTE: Your Organization Type needs to be District or Education Service Center; not GED Test Center.

Your district superintendent will have to approve you before staff at TEA can make the final approval.

  • An email will be sent to your District Superintendent to "Submit a request for approval".
  • Once the Superintendent makes the approval, then TEA can make the final approval.
  • An email will be sent approving or denying the application.

Adult Basic Education Request for GED Access

Adult Basic Education centers that are part of an ISD or ESC, accredited institution of higher learning such as colleges and universities, or are affiliated with Texas Learns are allowed access to GED data. If you would like to request access, it is a two part process.

First, log on to TEASE and folllow the instructions below:

  • At the upper right hand corner of the screen click on the Add/Modify Application Access button 
  • select General Education Development from the Select Application drop down menu

NOTE: Your Organization Type is not a GED Test Center and your Job Title is not GED Staff.

Second, fax in a completed application(Free Adobe Reader Download)

You should apply online then send in your FAX request for optimal service.

REMEMBER You need to send in a FAX request and apply online before TEA can give final approval.

Probation or Parole Request for GED Access

Some people working in Probation and Parole are currently allowed GED access. If you would like to request access to GED data, it is a two part process.

First, log on to TEASE and folllow the instructions below:

  • At the upper right hand corner of the screen click on the Add/Modify Application Access button
  • select General Education Development from the Select Application drop down menu

NOTE: Your Organization Type is not a GED Test Center and your Job Title is not GED Staff.

Second, fax in a completed application(Free Adobe Reader Download)

You should apply online then send in your FAX request for optimal service.

REMEMBER You need to send in a FAX request and apply online before TEA can give final approval

TEASE password retrieval

Click on Did you forget your password? link. Follow instructions, and your password will be mailed to you.
