Lexile Measure

The Lexile measure can be found on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) Confidential Student Report.  The Lexile Framework is an educational tool that has been developed to measure reading comprehension and text difficulty by placing readers and text on the same scale. The TAKS reading/ELA scale score has been linked with the Lexile scale. The Lexile scale is a developmental scale for reading/ELA ranging from below 200L for emergent readers to above 1700L for advanced readers. A value of "BR" indicates a Beginning Reader - the student's Lexile measure is below the reported Lexile scale (grade 3 only).  More information regarding the Lexile Framework® for reading can be found at
