Title: STAAR Alternate Implementation
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Audience: Open to ESCs and districts

Summary: The presentation will provide updates for setting up teachers and students in the Texas Assessment Management System. Guidance on selecting the appropriate task for a student, planning the task for the observation, and documenting student performance will be presented to teachers and supervisors using new PowerPoint resources. Examples of specific tasks will be highlighted. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding task implementation.

Title: STAAR Alternate Updates

Summary: The presentation will provide updates on the Texas Assessment Management System, the procedures for the Validity Audit and the Interrater Reliability Study, and testing violations. The appropriate use and security of the documentation form will be discussed. Supervision focusing on specific procedures for monitoring test administrators during the assessment window will be provided.

Title: Spring ELL Assessment Update
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Summary: This presentation will provide ESCs and districts with further guidance on the required submission of additional data during the spring TELPAS administration, including LPAC decision-making steps and instructions for online submission. In addition, STAAR L tutorials will be shown and the paper request process including transcription for STAAR L and TELPAS will be discussed.

Title: Linguistic Accommodations
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Summary: This session provides information about linguistic accommodations for STAAR, STAAR L, and STAAR Modified for coordinators who will be training test administrators in providing linguistic accommodations during testing. The session will include examples and student scenarios involving the use of linguistic accommodations. An opportunity for question and answer will follow the presentation.

Title: Accomm/SpEd Assess: Testing Q&A
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Audience: Open to ESCs and districts

Summary: This TETN will focus on answers to questions in preparation for March and April 2013 testing. Questions may be about test administration topics (e.g., grouping students for testing, test administration directions, accommodations, Optional Test Administration Procedures and Materials, IEP documentation) for students receiving special education services taking any of the TAKS or STAAR assessments. An e-mail soliciting questions for this TETN will be sent out to region and district testing and special education coordinators prior to this event. General updates about statewide assessment accommodations for students with disabilities and/or about STAAR Modified may be addressed as well.
