Purpose
The T-STEM Initiative includes academies, professional development centers, and a network all designed to improve instruction and academic performance in science and mathematics-related subjects at secondary schools.
Demonstration schools and learning labs to develop innovative instruction methods and integrate technology and engineering into science and mathematics instruction serving students in grades 6-12 or 9-12.
Promote engineering studies and research, develops workforce skills, encourage students to graduate from high school and enter academic and career paths in STEM fields that lead to careers in the engineering industries.
Partners with universities, regional service centers, local education agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations to create instructional materials and high-quality professional development.
Provides a hands-on experience in solving real world challenges, exposes students to physics, mechanics, electronics, programming, business, financial management, teamwork, and leadership.
Online professional development, exemplar profiles, and resources in STEM education.
Replication of the UTeach Institute, a nationally recognized mathematics and science teacher preparation program developed by the University of Texas at Austin.
