Expanded Learning Opportunities Council
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Council (ELO Council), established by the 83rd Texas Legislature’s Senate Bill 503 and codified in Texas Education Code Chapter 33.251-260, is authorized to study issues related to expanded learning opportunities and review structured programs outside of the regular school day. The ELO Council will develop a comprehensive statewide action plan that focuses on innovative, hands-on learning approaches to complement current school curriculum by November 1, 2014, and provide updates on implementation and recommendations by November 1, 2016.
