Texas ChalleNGe Academy
Reclaiming the potential of young adults through education, training, mentoring and volunteer service.
The Texas ChalleNGe Academy provides second chances to young people in Texas. Texas ChalleNGe Academy is designed to reclaim the potential of at-risk students by training them to be successful, responsible, productive citizens through a program of education, mentoring, physical fitness, and volunteer service to the community. The program is open to young men and women ranging in age from 16 to 18 years old who have dropped out or are in danger of dropping out of high school.
Cadets stay at the Academy for 5 1/2 months during the residential phase of the program. Students can recover high school credits, earn a GED, and if qualified, earn a high school diploma. TCA is an accredited high school, free to the families we serve, and based on Equal Opportunity principles. After graduation, cadets return home and meet with a local mentor every week for 12 months to keep the resolve to change their lives for the better.
Classes begin in July and January.
