Note. The map includes data for traditional ISDs only, not for charter schools. For more information on calculating the graduation rate, please see the dropout prevention FAQ.

Graduation rates are provided for districts that: (a) served Grade 9 and Grade 11 or 12 in the first and fifth years of the graduation rate calculation; or (b) served Grade 12 in the first and fifth years of the calculation. Districts marked “No Data” on the map do not have graduation rates for the class of 2010 and may not have served high school grade levels for the period of the graduation rate calculation. For example, a district serving only Grades K-6 and whose students attend another district after sixth grade would be displayed as “No Data” on the map.

Attrition Rates, 2009-10

Attrition Rate by District, Texas, 2009-10
Source. Texas Education Agency, Division of Research and Analysis, Accountability Research Unit.
Note. The map includes data for traditional ISDs only, not for charter schools. It is important to note that the attrition rate is not a dropout rate. Because the attrition rate uses total counts of students and does not track individual students, nine percent of the state’s districts have negative attrition rates. A negative attrition rate indicates a district had more Grade 12 students in 2009-10 than the number of freshmen in 2006-07. For more information on calculating the attrition rate, please see the dropout prevention FAQ.

Attrition rates are provided for districts with both Grade 9 and Grade 12 enrollment counts in 2006-07 and 2009-10. Districts marked “No Data” on the map do not have attrition rates and may not have served the grade levels required for the attrition rate calculation. For example, a district serving only Grades K-6 and whose students attend another district after sixth grade would be displayed as “No Data” on the map.
