1. Proposed Amendment to 19 TAC Chapter 130, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Career and Technical Education, Subchapter O, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, §130.371, Principles of Technology (One Science Credit)
(Second Reading and Final Adoption)
 

This item presents for second reading and final adoption proposed amendment to 19 TAC Chapter 130, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Career and Technical Education, Subchapter O, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, §130.371, Principles of Technology (One Science Credit). The proposed amendment would make minor modifications to the Principles of Technology course that would satisfy the physics graduation requirement to align with end-of-course assessment requirements. No additional changes are recommended since approved for first reading. Statutory authority for this action is the Texas Education Code (TEC), §§7.102(c)(4), 28.002, and 28.025.

2. Proposed Amendment to 19 TAC Chapter 74, Curriculum Requirements, Subchapter C, Other Provisions, §74.36, Requirements for Elective Courses on the Bible's Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and New Testament and Their Impact on the History and Literature of Western Civilization

This item presents for second reading and final adoption proposed amendment to 19 TAC Chapter 74, Curriculum Requirements, Subchapter C, Other Provisions, §74.36, Requirements for Elective Courses on the Bible's Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and New Testament and Their Impact on the History and Literature of Western Civilization. The proposed amendment would update 19 TAC §74.36 to align with revised student expectations in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Special Topics in Social Studies and Independent Study in English. Statutory authority for this action is the Texas Education Code (TEC), §§7.102(c)(4), 28.002, and 28.011.

3. Update on Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Review

This item provides the opportunity for staff to present an update on the review of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and for the committee to provide guidance regarding the TEKS review process. Statutory authority for this action is the Texas Education Code (TEC), §§7.102(c)(4), 28.002, and 28.025.
