1. Adopted Amendment to 19 TAC Chapter 101, Assessment, Subchapter CC, Commissioner's Rules Concerning Implementation of Testing Program, §101.3003, Graduation Requirements

Effective Date: October 18, 2009.

Amended 19 TAC Chapter 101, Assessment, Subchapter CC, Commissioner's Rules Concerning Implementation of Testing Program, §101.3003, Graduation Requirements, was filed as adopted with the Texas Register under the commissioner's rulemaking authority on September 28, 2009.

The adopted amendment substitutes a more current state assessment for testers previously covered by the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS). House Bill 3, 81st Texas Legislature, 2009, prohibits districts from administering exit level TAAS and requires the commissioner of education to specify an alternate assessment for testers who previously needed to pass exit level TAAS to receive a Texas high school diploma. The amendment was adopted with no changes from what was published as proposed.
