The verbs used in each assessment task are important in distinguishing between the three complexity levels—application, basic recall, and beginning awareness. The following documents include definitions of each verb, comparisons of verbs across the complexity levels, and how each verb must be used for the standardized assessment task at that complexity level. In addition, examples of student response modes are available as a resource.
