TEA launches college and career planning website

AUSTIN – The Texas Education Agency today announced the launch of a new free online college and career planning website for Texas students, parents and educators.

The Texas College & Career resource site, www.texascollegeandcareer.org, provides information about college options, academic and financial preparation for college, higher education admissions and career research.

“We want to help students get into college. This website provides a rich array of information that can help students successfully navigate the complex college preparation and admissions process,” said Commissioner of Education Michael L. Williams.

The website provides portfolio building tools that include: a career interest and values survey, career profiles with emphasis on high-growth career paths, college awareness, college search and match tools, resume building, interviewing skills, college application and essay guidance and college admission portfolios.

Available in English and Spanish, the site provides resources to accommodate unique populations such as students living in foster care and English language learners.

The site is available to all secondary students in Texas public schools. Training for teachers, counselors, parents and students is available within the site’s training center at https://support.connectedu.net/Texas/training-center.html .

Visitors to the training center can participate in one of several weekly live webinars or view recorded webinars immediately on-demand.
