Texas STaR Charts and ePlan Timelines (Aug. 19, 2013)
August 21, 2013
TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED:
Subject: Texas STaR Charts and ePlan Timelines
As the new school year begins, this letter is to inform you that the Texas Campus STaR Chart and the Texas Teacher STaR Chart are open for the 2013-2014 school year. The Texas Campus STaR Chart must be completed for each active campus in your school district before your district can submit a technology plan in the Texas ePlan system.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires school districts to submit technology plans through the Texas ePlan system. Starting with the E-Rate Funding Year 2011, schools and libraries applying for Priority 2 services (internal connections and basic maintenance) must have an approved technology plan for E-Rate purposes.
To ensure that your ePlan is approved prior to the start of the 2014 E-Rate funding year on July 1, 2014, please submit your technology plan through the Texas ePlan system by March 31, 2014. Plans entered into the system are electronically routed to your regional education service center for peer review before being recommended to the TEA for final review and approval. If your school district educational technology contact would like to serve as a peer reviewer, please contact your regional education service center’s technology department at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/technology (Education Service Centers).
Both the Texas Campus STaR Chart and the Texas Teacher STaR Chart can be accessed online at http://starchart.epsilen.com/.
The Texas ePlan system is available online at https://www.sedl.org/cgi-bin/mysql/eplan/eplan.cgi.
If you have additional questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
