SUMMARY: This item provides the board with an annual review of the work accomplished by the Division of Financial Audits. The report describes the division's organization, legal responsibilities, deviations from the 2007-2008 audit plan, and the status of audit reports.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND SIGNIFICANT ISSUES: 19 TAC §109.21 requires the Division of Financial Audits to provide an annual audit plan and report to the commissioner of education at least annually on actual work accomplished. The report is also required to be reviewed by the State Board of Education.
