Texas AP IB Incentive Program

 

The Texas Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate Incentive Program, originally established in 1993 by the 73rd Texas Legislature, is designed emphasize the state’s commitment to high academic performance by recognizing and rewarding students, teachers, and schools that demonstrate success in achieving the educational goals of the state.

Test Fees

For the 2012-2013 school year, the TEA will provide a $30 test fee subsidy for each AP and IB exam taken by Texas public school students with demonstrated financial need. The federal Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) has been received by TEA. The grant will provide $16 towards each AP exam and $65 towards each IB exam taken by Texas public school students with demonstrated financial need.

Teacher Training Reimbursement 2013

In support of the AP and IB programs, the teacher training reimbursement (TTR) program allows the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to reimburse districts for the cost of TEA-approved AP/IB or pre-AP/IB training up to $450 for each qualified teacher. The amount of the teacher training reimbursement for 2013 will be dependent upon the total number of eligible applicants and the amount of funding available after the payment of exam fee subsidies. Applications for 2013 TTR are due November 1, 2013.
