SUMMARY: At the request of a board member, a representative from Texas Educational Tools, Inc. will conduct a presentation regarding professional growth and development for educators.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND SIGNIFICANT ISSUES: As the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) are being revised, training and professional development will be needed for teachers and administrators in each of the content areas affected. Teacher training also will be required in connection with the new end-of-course exams. In addition, professional development will be required to help educators make cross curricula connections to ensure that students attain post secondary readiness.
