Job Corps
Administered by the U.S. Department of Labor
The Job Corps provides education and career technical training at no cost for young people who are at least 16 years of age. The program equips students with the necessary skills to succeed in a career and in life. Each Job Corps center furnishes educational opportunities to obtain a high school diploma or a GED Certificate. There are also classes for English Language Learners.
Job Corps will ready the prospective student for college and/or a technical career. Some of the hands-on training includes automotive, health care, information technology, business services, manufacturing, culinary arts and many more. Contact a Job Corps in your area to find out what they have to offer you. There are four Job Corps centers in Texas, which offer differing career programs.
