Education commissioner to hold school finance summit
AUSTIN – Commissioner of Education Robert Scott will host a school finance summit Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Texas Education Agency headquarters in the William B. Travis Building at 1701 N. Congress Ave.
He’ll meet with about three dozen educators and policy leaders to discuss suggestions for possible short-term and long-term improvements to the state’s education finance system. The commissioner will use the discussion to form recommendations for lawmakers in preparation for the upcoming legislative session.
The meeting is open to the public. There will also be a live audio stream of the meeting available on the website at www.tea.state.tx.us.
