‘Own Your Own Future’ student campaign in McAllen on Saturday
"Own Your Own Future," a student outreach campaign designed to encourage Texas youth to stay in school, graduate, and pursue their passion, will be in McAllen this Saturday with an interactive event at La Plaza Mall.
The event allows students to ask questions and explore the resources and tools available on www.OwnYourOwnFuture.com to discover both how to turn their interests into potential careers and the steps they need to take to get what they want out of life. The event will also include music and giveaways of free t-shirts and campaign materials.
The campaign was recently launched by the Texas Education Agency through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
