‘Own Your Own Future’ campaign in Houston on Saturday; new effort encourages teens to stay in school and graduate
WHAT: | "Own Your Own Future," a student outreach campaign designed to encourage Texas youth to stay in school, graduate, and pursue their passion, will be in Houston this Saturday with an interactive event at Greenspoint Mall. The event allows students to ask questions and explore the resources and tools available on www.OwnYourOwnFuture.com to discover how to turn their interests into potential careers and the steps they need to take to get what they want out of life. The event will also include music and giveaways of free campaign materials and resources. The campaign was recently launched by the Texas Education Agency through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. |
