'Own Your Own Future' student campaign in Dallas on Saturday 

 

WHAT:

"Own Your Own Future," a student outreach campaign designed to encourage Texas youth to stay in school, graduate, and pursue their passion, will be in Dallas this Saturday with an interactive event at Valley View Center.

The event allows students to ask questions and explore the resources and tools available on www.OwnYourOwnFuture.com to discover how to turn their interests into potential careers and the steps they need to take to get what they want out of life. The event will also include music and giveaways of free campaign materials and resources.

The campaign was recently launched by the Texas Education Agency through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

VISUALS:

  1. Teenagers exploring OwnYourOwnFuture.com at two computer stations;
  2. Campaign representatives speaking with students about their futures;
  3. Teens receiving free T-shirts, wristbands, and other campaign information;
  4. K-104 FM radio DJ’s broadcasting live and playing music.
