Commissioner of Education Michael L. Williams today announced he has approved a proposal presented to the Texas Education Agency in a memorandum of understanding that establishes an academic partnership between the Premont Independent School District and Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Commissioner of Education Michael L. Williams today joined representatives of Think Through Math (TTM), a Web-based math program, at a ceremony presenting a check for $11,367 to the American Red Cross West, Texas Relief Fund.

Principals have until June 15 to complete a survey that measures the performance of beginning teachers and educator preparation programs’ effectiveness in preparing those teachers to succeed in the classroom. A 2009 law requires principals to respond to the survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete per teacher.
