Texts used for the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness Alternate (STAAR™ Alternate) reading assessments must be grade-appropriate. The following resources provide guidelines for choosing such texts as well as instructions and examples of how to make text accessible at varying complexity levels for students taking the STAAR Alternate assessment.
