Released Tests–Interactive Online Versions

The Student Assessment Division of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has developed interactive online versions of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) and the TAKS–Modified (TAKS–M) released tests. In the development of the online tests, every effort was made to ensure that each test question is identical to the test questions in the printed test booklets. Note that math and science items that require students to use a ruler to measure may not be applicable on the interactive online versions of the released tests.
To view all available released tests, visit the Released Tests, Answer Keys, and Scoring Guides webpage.
Browser Requirements
Slight differences in formatting and appearance are possible depending on the configuration of your computer and browser. To properly view and evaluate the test, you need a browser version of 4.0 or later. If you are using such a browser and still receive an error message, you need to enable your JavaScript. You will also need to disable any pop-up blocker you may have in place, as the scoring function uses a pop-up window.
Printing
The interactive online version of the released tests are not formatted to be printed. The printable versions of the tests can be found on the TAKS Released Tests webpage.
Scoring
The results of the online versions of the released tests are intended for personal use only. TEA will not collect or use the scores from the online versions of the released tests for any purpose. The scores received on these tests are NOT official test scores. Meeting the passing standard on the interactive online version of the released TAKS test does NOT satisfy the requirements set forth in Texas Education Code, Chapter 39, Subchapter B or the exit level requirements for a high school diploma in Section 39.025.
Accessibility
The Student Assessment Division has worked on making the online versions of the released tests accessible to the visually impaired. The reading and writing portions of the online released tests have embedded descriptive links that connect to a text file for each reading passage and an html file for each writing passage. Similar enhancements have been added for the mathematics, social studies, and science tests.
